To get around this I modified the Ivy Bridge boot CD to use a customized and ist which came from /Extra on by hard disc. The authentication patches I was trying were dependent on the files on the hard disc which were not being used when I booted from CD. I was never able to boot directly from the hard disc and this was the source of some of my problems. This has the RealTek chipset and worked with no problems. I was however able to get ethernet working by installing a Trendnet Gigabit PCI Adapter (TEG-PCITXR). Either I don't know the proper flags or the driver only works for Mountain Lion and not Snow Leopard. I tried to load the driver in a tmp directory but it complained about not matching the OS version. ![]() Success! I am finally downloading Mountain Lion!
